Job summary

Qualifications

• Georgia PSC Certification as a Special Education Teacher is required
• Bachelor's degree in education discipline applicable to teaching
• Master's degree in Special Education preferred
• Valid driver's license or access to transportation

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments and diagnostic exams to identify learning issues
• Develops Individual Educational Plans (IEP) for students
• Assists students and staff with implementing IEPs and behavior plans
• Coordinates with outside agencies and authorities as needed
• Collaborates with administrators and teachers to tailor support
• As a liaison between home and school, communicates with parents
• Maintains accurate records and prepares student information for colleges
