Job summary

Sumter School District is seeking a qualified Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) to support students at Crestwood High School with career guidance and resources.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, a GCDF certificate, and at least two years of experience working with adolescents in a public school setting. Proficiency with Internet and Microsoft Office is expected. This is a 200-day position with pay based on credentials and experience, range $20.94–$33.49 per hour.

Qualifications

• GCDF certificate required.
• Bachelor's degree in a related area from a regionally accredited college or university.
• At least two years of experience working with adolescents in the public school setting is desired.
• Applicant must be proficient with Internet and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist schools in promoting the goals of quality career development of students.
• Assist school counselors and students in identifying and accessing career information and resource material.
• Provide educators, parents, and students with information on career and technology education programs offered in the district.
• Support students in the exploration of career clusters and the selection of an area of academic focus within a cluster of study.
• Assist with the selection, administration, and evaluation of career interest inventories.
• Assist schools in planning and developing parent information on career development for parents.
• Coordinate and provide appropriate community resources representing a variety of occupations in career development activities for parents, teachers, and students.
• Assist with the usage of computer assisted career guidance systems.
• Work with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
