Job summary

Prosper ISD TRANSPORTATION in Prosper, Texas seeks a Bus Monitor to assist with the safe and efficient transport of students. You will help students board and exit, ensure safety protocols are followed, and support routine attendance and reporting.

The role requires at least 18 years of age, a high school diploma or GED, and ability to read, write, and communicate in English. You will work as part of a team with the bus driver to maintain a secure, supportive environment during trips.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

Responsibilities

• Assist students on and off the bus according to their individual needs.
• Follow established safety guidelines and procedures, supervise students, as well as instruct them on safe entering and exiting the bus.
• Learn and adapt to each student’s specific medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs.
• Manage student behaviors according to CPI practices utilizing Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention as a last resort and reporting student discipline problems in a timely manner to transportation.
• Communicate with the Special Needs Route Coordinator regarding student specific needs and behaviors on the bus.
• Assist with completing and maintaining accurate, updated, and timely records and reports including daily attendance.
• Operate equipment according to established safety procedures; ensure safety devices are used correctly.
• Assist with emergency procedures including evacuation of students as needed and if necessary administering first aid.
• Keep the bus clean and attend monthly Safety Meetings.
