Job summary

Northwestern Health Sciences University’s Bloomington Clinic is seeking a student to assist with patient insurance verification. The role involves checking eligibility, confirming coverage details, and documenting results in the EHR/practice management system.

Hours are about 5 per week, flexible across 3–4 days, and eligibility is limited to federal work-study participants. This on-site position supports the clinic's patient access team.

Qualifications

• Must be federal work study eligible.
• Ideally can work 1-2 hours 3-4 days per week (days/hours can be flexible).

• Verify patient insurance eligibility using payer portals, clearinghouses, or phone calls.
• Confirm coverage details, including deductibles, copays, coinsurance, referral/authorization requirements, and visit limits.
• Document all verification results accurately in the EHR/practice management system.
