Job summary

Person County Schools is seeking a Behavioral Support Assistant for the PCLA in Roxboro, NC. The role provides direct behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health support to students with behavioral challenges to improve academic and social outcomes.

The position is grant-funded through the end of the 2026-2027 school year, non-exempt and hourly, with starting date immediately and supervision by the Principal as well as the Behavior Liaison and district staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a two year degree or 48 semester credit hours.
• Must pass Criminal background check and provide references.

Responsibilities

• Assists with implementing positive behavior supports and classroom management to improve student outcomes.
• Works directly with students to support social-emotional and behavioral needs and de-escalation when necessary.
• Collaborates with teachers, counselors and specialists to design and monitor behavior interventions.
• Collects observational data and assists with Behavior Intervention Plans and related supports.
• Maintains confidentiality and documents student progress and interventions consistently.
