Job summary

The Foundation Schools seeks dedicated Aides to support assigned students with behavior management and safety throughout the school day. They assist with classes and activities to help students meet academic and behavioral goals, while maintaining thorough documentation of progress.

Under teacher direction, Aides implement lesson plans and IEP goals, participate in meetings, and provide staff support and program assistance as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Six months of formal training or experience in special education or similar setting is preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shadow assigned student, monitor activities, and document progress.
• Help student decrease and avoid inappropriate behaviors using behavior management techniques.
• Adapt interventions to meet IEP/BIP requirements.
• Assist with classroom assignments and lessons under teacher guidance.
• Demonstrate knowledge of subjects and maintain professional boundaries.
• Provide feedback to teachers and school leaders on student needs.
