Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks a Dean of Students to support discipline and student conduct under supervision. The role focuses on implementing policies that prioritize learning, overseeing discipline plans, and coordinating with administrators to maintain a safe school environment.

The incumbent will work with families, staff, and external agencies to address behavioral issues and ensure due process while protecting student records confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC teaching license required.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in education or related area.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
• Enforce behavior policies and maintain order on school property.
• Assist with supervision of student activities during lunch, changes, assemblies, and events.
• Provide direct support to school administrators on behavioral issues.
• Assist with development and implementation of discipline plans and behavior programs.
• Coordinate school bus supervision before and after school.
• Oversee campus security associate and ISS program.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.
• Monitor truancy and attendance; follow up on unexcused absences.
• Collaborate with school resource officers and law enforcement for referrals.
