Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks a Dean of Students to support a learning-focused environment by implementing discipline policies and supervising student conduct. You will work under moderate supervision to maintain order, assist administrators, and coordinate supervision of activities across the campus.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, an NC teaching license, and at least three years in education. Travel to district buildings and meetings may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC teaching license required.
• Minimum of three years in education or related area.
• Equivalent combination of experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Enforce policies regarding behavior on school property; maintain order.
• Supervise student activities during lunch, changes, assemblies, and events.
• Provide direct support to school administrators and staff on behavioral issues.
• Develop and implement the school discipline plan and behavior programs.
• Coordinate school bus supervision before and after school.
• Oversee the campus security associate and ISS program coordination.
• Observe and document student behavior; maintain records.
• Monitor truancy and tardiness; follow up on unexcused absences.
• Collaborate with resource officers and law enforcement for referrals.
