Job summary

University Media Services on the University of Delaware campus is seeking Student AV Technicians to support events at Mitchell Hall, Pearson Auditorium, and other venues. Hours average 6–10 per week, with evenings and weekends available to match event schedules.

Undergraduates enrolled at UD will assist with lighting, sound, and backstage operations, gaining hands-on experience with the latest event technology while delivering excellent customer service to performers and attendees.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a performing environment is a plus
  • Willingness to learn new technology
  • Proven experience in operating and troubleshooting AV equipment is desired
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • Must lift a minimum of 25 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain AV equipment for events
  • Interface with performers to confirm their needs
  • Provide top-notch customer service to attendees and organizers
  • Clean and store equipment properly after events
  • Work independently or collaboratively as needed
  • Ensure that University and venue policies are followed
