The University of Portland is seeking a part-time student employee to support the university auto mechanic. The role maintains the campus auto fleet (40+ vehicles) and heavy equipment, performing preventive and corrective maintenance.

Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm. Duties include driving for parts, keeping the shop and inventory organized, and assisting with DEQ-related tasks as needed. This is a minimum 15 hrs/week student position.

Qualifikationen

• Think through and solve problems in real time.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive University vehicles on campus.
• Consent to a driving record background check.
• Ability to learn and abide by safety policies and procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest; experience with basic vehicle or motorized equipment maintenance.

Aufgaben

• Assist Auto Mechanic with maintenance of campus fleet and equipment.
• Clean and organize campus fleet and Auto shop.
• Run for parts and shuttle vehicles to service vendors.
• Manage parts and inventory, including some data entry.
• Other relevant tasks as assigned.
