Job summary

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) is seeking an athletic program leader to guide and supervise CMSD sports activities and student-athletes.

This role requires a valid CPR certificate and a Pupil-activity permit from the Ohio Department of Education, with preferred coaching experience and knowledge of sport techniques. Collaboration with the athletics department and school leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• CPR certificate is required.
• Pupil-activity (coaching) permit from the Ohio Department of Education is required.
• All athletic directors have proof of securing these certificates.
• Previous coaching experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport/activity and willingness to seek out new techniques.

Responsibilities

• Attend CMSD Pre-season meetings.
• Understands and follows CMSD guidelines and rules.
• Attends and arrives promptly to practices and games.
• Track, communicate, and comply with student eligibility status.
• Submit roster, schedule, and transportation paperwork to the athletic department and principal.
• Distributes, collects, and cares for uniforms and equipment.
• Participates in the scheduled professional development by the Athletics Department.
• Uploads scores and statistics to the CMSD reporting site.
• Cooperates with the principal to implement the vision of the program.
• Supervises students before and after practice and competitions.
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators.
