Job summary

CMSD is seeking an Athletic Director to provide guidance, support, and direction for students participating in Cleveland Metropolitan School District sports programs or other approved activities.

Responsibilities include attending pre-season meetings, following CMSD guidelines, tracking eligibility, and coordinating rosters, transportation, and equipment. The role requires CPR certification and an Ohio pupil-activity coaching permit, with coaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is required.
• Pupil-activity (coaching) permit from the Ohio Department of Education is required.
• Coaching experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport/activity and willingness to adopt new techniques.

Responsibilities

• Attend CMSD pre-season meetings.
• Follow CMSD guidelines and rules.
• Attend and arrive promptly to practices and games.
• Track, communicate, and comply with student eligibility status.
• Submit roster, schedule, and transportation paperwork to the athletic department and principal.
• Distribute, collect, and care for uniforms and equipment.
• Participate in the schedule developed by the Athletics Department.
• Upload scores and statistics to the CMSD reporting site.
• Cooperate with the principal to implement the program vision.
• Supervise students before and after practices and competitions.
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators.
