Job summary

Penn State University’s Morgan Academic Center seeks an Intermediate Professional to coordinate academic support and counseling for football student-athletes, tracking progress and eligibility and communicating updates to coaching staffs and administrators.

The role includes teaching one section of the student-athlete first-year seminar, referring students to university resources, meeting prospective student-athletes during the recruiting process, and performing duties in collaboration with MAC

Qualifications

Master's degree with 1+ years of relevant experience.
Degree preferably in counselor education, college student personnel, psychology, social work, education, or higher education administration.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the academic support and counseling services for assigned football student-athletes and monitor academic progress and eligibility.
Communicate student-athlete academic progress to coaching staffs, athletic administration, and the MAC Director.
Teach one section of the student-athlete first-year seminar course (part of the Penn State Alumni Association First-Year Enrichment Program).
Refer student-athletes to other appropriate University resources, as needed.
Meet with prospective student-athletes and families throughout the recruiting process.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the MAC Director and Director of Football Academics; collaborate with MAC associates and staff.
Evening and weekend hours will be required (study hall program and recruiting).
Maintain strict adherence to NCAA and Big Ten Conference rules and regulations.
