Job summary

Compass Group USA at Camp Randall Stadium & The Kohl Center Arena is seeking a Student Athlete Dining Cook to provide nutritious, high‑quality meals to UW–Madison student‑athletes. You’ll follow standardized recipes, meet safety standards, and work in a fast‑paced team environment.

Shifts include 4am–12pm, 7am–3pm and 2pm–10pm with full‑time and part‑time options. ServSafe and Alcohol Safety certifications are preferred, with benefits offered through Levy.

Qualifications

• Culinary experience required with strong kitchen operations knowledge.
• Must be willing to obtain ServSafe Food Handler Certification and Alcohol Safety Certification.
• Team player with positive attitude and ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high‑quality meals per recipes and schedules.
• Serve meals and portions, ensure proper temperatures and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas.
• Manage inventory, storage, and safe handling of food.
• Operate and report on equipment safely and promptly.
• Attend safety meetings and collaborate with team and supervisors.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Position Title: Student Athlete Dining Cook at Camp Randall Stadium & The Kohl Center Arena - University of Wisconsin-Madison

Pay Range: $18.00 to $22.00 (+ $5 additional hourly rate on football gamedays!)

Summary:Join our team as a Student Athlete Dining Cook and play an essential role in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to student-athletes. You’ll prepare meals that meet the highest culinary standards while adhering to federal, state, and corporate regulations. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where quality food and service are key! Anticipated start date: as soon as possible!

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Prepare high-quality meals according to standardized recipes and production schedules to meet delivery and service timelines.
• Portioning & Service: Serve meals or prepare items for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, proper temperatures, and that food is visually appealing and delicious.
• Cleanliness & Organization: Clean kitchen areas after meal preparation and service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Store or discard any excess food following safe food-handling procedures.
• Inventory & Storage: Keep refrigerators, storerooms, and kitchen spaces clean and well-organized. Ensure food and supplies are stored properly to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
• Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate kitchen equipment safely and according to instructions. Report any maintenance needs, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Safety Compliance: Attend in-service and safety meetings to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with coworkers, administrators, and managers to ensure smooth operations and the consistent delivery of quality meals.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the dining services.

Qualifications:

• Culinary Experience: Previous culinary experience is required, with a strong understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Certifications: Must have or be willing to complete ServSafe Food Handler Certification and Alcohol Safety Certification.
• Positive Attitude: A team player with a positive attitude, ready to contribute to a collaborative work environment.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift and move 50 lbs of kitchen supplies or food items.
• Teamwork: Ability to work well with others, creating a positive, supportive environment for all staff and team members.

Full Time & Part Time Positions Available:

• 1st Shift: 4am - 12pm*
• 2nd Shift: 7am - 3pm*
• 3rd Shift: 2pm - 10pm*
