Job summary

Qualifications

• Employment as a teacher (preferred)
• Must complete the New Mexico Activities Association’s online course requirements for coaching.
• CPR Certification
• Valid New Mexico coaching license; three years sport-related experience preferred
• Girls sport – female candidate preferred
• Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for performing the responsibilities listed.
• Alt. qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

• Supervise student-athletes as assigned by Head Coach
• Develop a competitive program excelling in athletic performance and academic achievement
• Create an environment where athletes can achieve academic and athletic success
• Ensure athletes have opportunities to achieve competitive success
• Monitor academic performance to ensure student-athlete success
• Enforce the Code of Ethics for all athletes
• Coach and mentor with professional conduct on and off the field
• Communicate openly with participants, teachers, administrators and parents
• Cooperate with athletic program leadership to upgrade the total program
• Follow district policies and guidelines for fundraising and operations
