Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Administers and directs interscholastic athletic events on his/her assigned campus with Principal and Athletic Coordinator.
  • Manages scheduled athletic events and facilities and audits ticket and gate receipts.
  • Promotes good sportsmanship and student development.
  • Is in attendance at every regularly scheduled game – 7th or 8th grade level.
  • Duty hours based on supervisory requirements of each sport.
  • Directs ticket sales, supervises game workers, coordinates security, and prepares facilities.
  • Coordinates use of athletic facilities for events during after-school hours.
  • Implements and enforces district and state game policies at GISD athletic events.
  • Follows policies related to NM Activities Association and GISD established by law and policy.
  • Oversees all athletic events held on assigned campus.
  • Performs other duties as required by Principal, Athletic Coordinator, and GISD Athletic Director.

Job description

Administers and directs interscholastic athletic events on his/her assigned campus as defined by the New Mexico Activities Association and the Gadsden Independent School District by performing the following duties personally in conjunction with the Principal and School Athletic Coordinator. Responsibilities include the management and coordination of all scheduled athletic events and facilities and the implementation and audit of all ticket and gate receipts.

Other duties may be assigned. Promotes good sportsmanship and student development.

Promotes good sportsmanship in fans.

Is in attendance at every regularly scheduled game – 7th or 8th grade level.

Duty hours are based on the supervisory requirements of each sport.

Manages school hosted athletic events by directing ticket sales, supervising all game workers, coordinating security needs, and ensuring preparation of facilities.

Assists the school’s Athletic Coordinator in coordinating the use of all athletic facilities for all athletic events as scheduled by the athletic department during after school hours.

Implements and enforces all district and state game policies during Gadsden Independent School District athletic events.

Implements policies, as they relate to New Mexico Activities Association and GISD athletic events and programs, established by federal law, state law, Public Education Commission, Public Education Department, New Mexico Activities Association, and local school board policy as these policies relate to athletic events.

Oversees all athletic events held on his/her assigned campus.

Performs other assigned duties as may be required and approved the Principal, School Athletic Coordinator, and Gadsden Independent School District Athletic Director

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

All game workers to include but not limited to ticket sellers, ticket takers, security, and announcers.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
