Tulane University is seeking an Associate Director for Student-Athlete Enhancement to oversee holistic personal, professional, and leadership development for student-athletes through the W.A.V.E. program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 1 year of student-athlete enhancement/community service experience at an NCAA Division I institution OR 7 years of student-athlete enhancement/community service experience at an NCAA Division I institution.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Great attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of Office Suite and ability to learn software such as Salesforce and Canvas.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the Development and Implementation of a Comprehensive Life Skills Program (40%).
• Co-coordinate the W.A.V.E Student-Athlete Enhancement Program and provide opportunities for personal and leadership development.
• Facilitate collaboration with internal and external stakeholders across the Tulane community.
• Co-coordinate guest speakers and events related to leadership, personal and professional development, and student-athlete welfare.
• Establish metrics and data collection methods to evaluate program offerings.
• Co-manage W.A.V.E. mentorship and leadership programs for student-athletes.
• Promote initiatives via social media branding to recruit prospective student-athletes.
• Integrate institutional programming into comprehensive student-athlete development programs.
• Research best practices in student-athlete enhancement.
• Provide support and consultation in team building, motivation, communication, conflict resolution, accountability, and leadership.
• Institute career and leadership assessments for student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
• Develop and maintain a robust communications plan for the leadership certificate program.
• Provide resources to prepare graduating student-athletes for life after athletics.
• Oversee post-graduate awards and scholarships applications.
• Co-advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
• Create and track individualized plans for student-athletes progressing through programs.
• Administer the W.A.V.E Cup and assist in staff selection and training.
• Collaborate with academic and career advising colleagues.
