Job summary

Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti (Main Campus) invites applications for a part-time Academic Advisor in Intercollegiate Athletics. Assist in administering a comprehensive student-athlete support program while ensuring compliance with university, MAC and NCAA regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education, business or related field is required.
Two years of experience providing academic support services to student-athletes is required.
Experience advising student-athletes in accordance with NCAA academic eligibility requirements is required.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail are critical.
Ability to use a personal computer, databases, and student information systems is required.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the delivery of academic support services to assigned student-athletes.
Provide eligibility counseling and academic support to student-athletes to ensure progress toward educational objectives.
Adhere to NCAA, MAC and EMU policies and procedures.
Plan and organize a learning program for student-athletes, including mentoring and tutoring needs.
Monitor academically at-risk student-athletes and coordinate related programs.
