Job summary

Vanderbilt University’s Athletics Department seeks an Assistant Director of Student Services to monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and provide counseling and support services. Qualifications

• Master's degree is required.
• 2–3 years NCAA Division I football academics experience preferred.
• Organized, detail oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• High emotional intelligence and effective communication.
• Knowledge of NCAA Division I and SEC rules is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor academic progress for assigned sports and provide academic counseling and support as needed.
• Meet regularly with assigned caseload, including weekly meetings with first-year student-athletes and those at risk of not meeting good academic standing.
• Report academic progress to coaches and sport administrators.
• Check classes for attendance and assist in tracking academic requirements for degree progress.
• Collaborate with compliance to ensure NCAA/SEC rules are followed and report findings as needed.
