Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Process the sale of parking permits, validations, hang-tags, etc., into the parking management system and collect payments.
  • Adhere to compliant credit card processing.
  • Open and close the Parking Service Center per procedure.
  • Maintain security of physical assets during shifts.
  • Process defective and returned permits.
  • Answer phones and assist customers with inquiries.
  • Assist with department activities and events.
  • Assist leadership with technical enhancements using data systems (Excel, PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Troubleshoot and improve functionality of parking assets and sensors.

Job Overview

Job Title: Student Associate, Parking and Transportation Services, Campus Services

Pay Rate: $13.00/hr

Work Location: 51 W Corry Blvd Ste 1400, Cincinnati, Ohio 45221

Modality: 100% on-site, no remote work offered at this time.

FTE%: 25%, Part-time

Student Associates provide customer service support at the Parking Service Center. This is an essential customer "point-of-contact" position working directly to fulfill the parking needs of university students, university employees, third-party affiliates, and the public. Student Associates provide consistent quality customer service to the University community. Student Associates support and enhance on-going technical efforts to deliver services using various technologies, including the possibility of program creation and modification.

The Parking Service Center is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm. We will work with your school schedule, but the availability required is within this timeframe.

Job Description
  • Process the sale of parking permits, validations, hang-tags, etc, into the parking management system, and collect customer payments at the point of sale.
  • Adhere to compliant credit card processing.
  • Open and close the Parking Service Center in accordance with procedure.
  • Assure physical assets are secure during the shift.
  • Process defective and returned (refund) permits.
  • Answer phones and provide timely assistance with customer inquiries.
  • Assist with Parking and Transportation Services activities such as new employee orientation, Bearcat Bound Orientation, Customer Appreciation Day, Student Appreciation Day, and other departmental activities.
  • Assist the leadership of Parking and Transportation Services with technical enhancements to the university's parking management operation, which will require knowledge and use of various data collection and reporting systems such as Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and Tableau, and use of the university's parking permitting, access, and revenue control system.
  • Assist the leadership of Parking and Transportation Services with troubleshooting and enhancing the functionality of physical assets, such as gate control machines, credit card readers, and other input devices, especially with respect to their relationship with the parking management system.
  • Adhere to all Parking Service Center procedures, including uniform policy.
  • Other duties as required to assist with departmental or university goals.

Parking and Transportation Services provides professional work experience and a broad range of business, technical, and communication skills for students.

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Enrolled at a post- secondary institution or a secondary school.
  • Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post- secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
  • "Enrollment" shall include:
    • The period between two successive terms for which the student is enrolled.
    • The one "off" term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous business and/or customer service experience.
  • Previous experience using PowerBI, Tableau, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Valid US driver's license.
