Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking a part-time Tutoring & Testing support staff member at the Eastern Campus. The role involves leading weekly small-group sessions, integrating study strategies into content review, and fostering an inclusive, peer-led learning environment.

Responsibilities include conducting 2–3 study sessions per week, maintaining confidentiality, and meeting with faculty weekly to discuss student progress and plan effective sessions. Requires current enrollment and 3.0 GPA.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of 1 term and current enrollment.
• Maintain 6 credit hours per semester and a 3.0 GPA.
• Adhere to confidentiality policy and pass background/drug screening.
• Demonstrate content competency in subject area and complete SI Leadership training.
• Meet weekly with faculty and conduct 2–3 study sessions per week.

Work Schedule: Up to 15 hours per week Fall / Spring M-F between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Job Description:

LearningObjectives:

• Facilitate collaborative review sessions. Lead weekly,interactive small-group sessions that help students process and masteralready-assigned course content, without re-lecturing.
• Integrate study skills into content review. Weavelearning strategies, organizational techniques, and test-preparationskills directly into session activities.
• Foster an inclusive, low-stakes learning environment.Create a safe, informal, peer-led space where students feel comfortableasking questions and practicing new skills.
• Apply active-learning facilitation techniques. Usequestioning and group-facilitation strategies that promote peer-to-peerproblem-solving and collaboration, rather than supplying direct answers.

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of 1 term; *currently enrolled;
• Consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester;
• Maintain 3.0 GPA;
• Adhere to College’s confidentiality policy;
• Successfully pass background/drug screening;
• Prior enrollment with professor (required);
• MUST have completed selected course with a B or higher(required);
• Demonstrate content competency in subject area;
• Completion of SI Leadership training;
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and writtencommunication skills;
• Conduct 2-3, 50 minute study sessions per week tosupport student understanding of course content, clarify assignments, anddevelop study strategies;
• Assist students in strengthening study skills, timemanagement, critical thinking, and learning strategies;
• Encourage collaborative learning, active studentengagement;
• MUST meet with faculty weekly to discuss and providefeedback on student progress and plan effective study sessions;
• Maintain accurate records of study sessions;
• Work collaboratively with the Tutoring Coordinator orTutoring Supervisor to promote tutoring and academic support services tostudent;
• Model appropriate academic behaviors, professionalism,and student success strategies;

This is a part-time position with starting hourly wage of $14.56/hr.
