Student Ambassador

Kennedy-King College

City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), the largest community collegesystem in Illinois, is made up of seven colleges and five satellitesites, providing more than 70,000 students each year access to aquality, affordable education. Kennedy-King College is astudent-centered institution that empowers all members of itscommunity through accessible and affordable academic advancement,career development and personal enrichment. We are actively seekinga Student Ambassador to join our team. The ideal Ambassador will bed etail-orientated, a quick learner, have solid time management andleadership skills and have the ability to be flexible. Thisposition requires the ability to speak to new and returningstudents about the Kennedy-King College experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the StudentAmbassador acts as the CCC student representative to prospectivestudents, current students, faculty, staff, and the public.
2. Provides quality customer service to prospective studentsthrough campus tours or other visits.
3. Helps guide prospective students in choosing to attend CityColleges of Chicago.
4. Answers questions that students may have about student life atone of the City Colleges of Chicago
5. Provides information about the re-admission, withdrawal andother academic transactions.
6. Provides information to prospective students and sometimesother students about extracurricular activities.
7. Participates in on-campus College recruiting activities.
8. Copies materials used for recruiting activities, admissions,registration and orientation.
9. Sets a positive/supportive introduction to the college for newand returning students.
10. Attends training sessions as required.
11. Adheres to the City Colleges of Chicago Customer ServiceExcellence Standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required or actively pursuing a GED at theCity Colleges of Chicago
• Knowledge of City Colleges of Chicago

Eligibility Requirements:

• Applicants must be 16 years or older, have work permit consent,and eligible to work in the United States
• Applicants must be actively attending one of the City Collegesof Chicago
• Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester hourspre-credit or credit classes
• Applicants must be pursuing an approved educational credential,degree, or certificate
• Applicants must have and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA(waived for first semester new students)
• Applicants must be in “good standing” – no City Colleges ofChicago academic restrictions
• Applicants must not be current Full or Part-time employees ofthe City Colleges of Chicago
