South College is seeking a Student Affairs Coordinator to organize and manage the Student Services Department, fostering campus engagement and supporting student success.

You will oversee clubs and publications, coordinate tutoring and workshops, and ensure compliance with ADA/504. You will also manage student conduct, graduation coordination, orientation, and placement activities across campus sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Previous work in a post-secondary setting required.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a post-secondary setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and foster community engagement and campus connections by coordinating student activities, clubs, honor societies and organizations.
  • Provide oversight of student publications and communication, including the quarterly campus newsletter.
  • Coordinate and evaluate academic support activities and programs (tutoring, seminars, and workshops).
  • Ensure compliance with Section 504 and the ADA and with other federal and state regulations concerning students with disabilities; coordinate accommodations and notification to faculty.
  • Manage the student conduct process and coordinate the Appeals Committee; maintain records of Honor Code violations.
  • Create quarterly academic recognition certificates and transcript notation; oversee grievance and appeals processes.
  • Participate in service activities contributing to community, professional, and institutional advancement.
  • Promote scholarly and professional activities contributing to knowledge and educational excellence.
  • Assist with coordinating online graduation participation and serve as liaison with campus locations (Online Campus).
  • Coordinate welcome/orientation sessions and SAP appeal processes; assist with outreach to students on warning and probation.

Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Student Affairs Coordinator plans, organizes, and manages an assigned division within the Student Services Department to facilitate the delivery of services to students in the College.

Responsibilities of the Student Affairs Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Create and foster community engagement and campus connections by coordinating student activities, clubs, honor societies and organizations. Coordinates the Student Advisory Committee (SAC) meetings and membership.
  • Provide oversight of student publications and communication, which includes the development and distribution of the quarterly, campus newsletter.
  • Coordinate, and evaluate academic support activities and programs (tutoring, seminars, and workshops).
  • Ensure institutional compliance with Section 504 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and with other federal and state regulations concerning students with disabilities. Review student requests for accommodations based on a documented disability and recommend reasonable accommodations. Provide notification to faculty of students with approved accommodations. Coordinate the acquisition of any resources necessary to provide the approved reasonable accommodations (such as interpreters, technology, and assistive devices).
  • Manages the student conduct process and coordinate the Appeals Committee.
  • Maintain records of Honor Code violations.
  • Creates quarterly academic recognition certificates and transcript notation.
  • Responsible for overseeing the student grievance and appeals process as outlined in the college’s Catalog and Student Handbook.
  • Adhere to all college policies as described in the job description, employee handbook, or other separate guidelines and memos and fulfill other duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Participate in service activities that contribute to community, professional, and institutional advancement.
  • Promote scholarly academic and professional activities that contribute to the advancement of knowledge, intellectual growth, and educational excellence
  • Assists with coordinating and tracking online students wishing to participate in graduation ceremonies and being a liaison with the campus locations. (Online Campus Role Only)
  • Responsible for the coordination of welcome/orientation sessions.
  • Oversees and coordinates the SAP appeal process. (On-Ground Campus Role Only)
  • Assists with outreach efforts to students on warning and probation. (On-Ground Campus Role Only)
  • For Small Campuses Only:
  • Assist all graduates in securing in-field/related field employment in order to meet the institutional placement benchmark.
  • Coordinate job placements with prospective employers, determine job descriptions, and recommend graduates for interviews. Follow up on graduate placement.
  • Meet with students to provide resources and assistance with mock interviewing, resume and cover letter writing assistance, and job search strategies.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Skill in examining operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

Requirements
Education
  • Earned bachelor’s degree required (Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field preferred)
  • Master’s degree preferred
Experience
  • Previous work in a post-secondary setting required
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a post-secondary setting preferred
