Job summary

CT State Community College is seeking a part-time Educational Assistant in Bridgeport to coordinate classroom accessibility for students with disabilities and arrange reasonable accommodations. The role supports testing accommodations and maintains confidential records to uphold ADA compliance.

Under the direction of the Dean or Director of Accessibility and Disability Services, you will deliver accessibility services, collaborate with students, faculty and staff, and ensure accommodations are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriately related field.
• Two years of experience in academic accommodation for students or a closely related field.
• Experience with academic accommodation for students with disabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Delivery of accessibility services.
• Engages in supporting the interactive process with students, faculty, and staff to access and implement accommodations.
• Collects medical and educational documentation to determine disability and initiates review for accommodations.
• Maintains comprehensive records of all interactions and decisions related to accommodation.
• Collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to assist facilitating the effective implementation of approved academic accommodations.
• Protects the confidentiality of student disability records in accordance with policies and legal standards.
• Supports testing accommodation for students, including proctoring as needed.
