Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems is seeking a Stryker Combat Vehicle Mechanic at Fort Carson to maintain and service Stryker vehicles, ensuring readiness for the brigade's mission. The role requires inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical systems in a demanding field environment.

You will perform PMCS, read schematics, and use special tools and BITE equipment, while coordinating with field, shop, and office teams. Strong communication and safety practices are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of mechanical experience on tactical/combat vehicles, Stryker experience preferred
• Documentation of commercial training or equivalent experience accepted
• Ability to work in confined spaces and varied facilities, indoors and outdoors
• Must work independently and collaborate across field, shop and office environments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Willing to gain/maintain access to Fort Carson and other bases, and secure clearance if applicable

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting on Stryker Family of Vehicles for faults, failures and deficiencies
• Use data transfer equipment to read/write software configurations
• Identify parts via IETM, schematics and cross-reference by vehicle configuration
• Conduct PMCS on Stryker vehicles
• Troubleshoot and repair automotive systems including engine, transmission, cooling, fuel, exhaust, driveline and suspension using BITE and other tools
• Repair LRUs, disassemble/replace worn parts and test per documentation
• Diagnose hydraulic system issues across variants
• Maintain documentation and paperwork related to duties
• Operate computers and Microsoft software
• Maintain control of special tools and equipment
