Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) seeks a Stryker Combat Vehicle Mechanic for maintenance at Ft. Campbell, KY and Ft. Bliss, TX, with JBLM operations. The role involves routine and unscheduled upkeep, de-processing, and hands-on support for Stryker platforms in a demanding environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of mechanical truck/vehicle experience, Stryker background preferred, and ability to obtain a secret clearance. CDL and US passport may be advantageous for field deployments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Stryker platform and related equipment.
• Conduct quality checks of vehicles per De-processing and TI forms.
• De-process Stryker equipment under USG supervision; assist teammates with technical issues.
• Ensure vehicle familiarization and safe operation, PMCS, and crew-station knowledge.
• Complete other duties as assigned by Supervisor; support USG personnel as directed.
• Promote a safe workplace with proper PPE usage and environmental health practices.
• Be able to deploy to CONUS/OCONUS as needed.

Stryker Combat Vehicle Mechanic (SCA) At General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) we put our customers at the center of everything we do. We are looking for passionate individuals to help us deliver innovative, unique solutions to 2-2 SBCT.

We have one mechanic opening at Ft. Campbell, KY, and one mechanic opening at Ft. Bliss, TX. Both positions are funded fully TDY. Operations based out of JBLM. Pending funding.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled & unscheduled maintenance on Stryker platform and associated equipment.
• Conduct quality checks of vehicles in accordance with De-processing check sheets and Joint Technical Inspection (TI) form.
• Conduct De-processing of the Stryker's associated equipment and equipment modifications/installations under USG supervision.
• Assist team members regarding problems within technical areas as required.
• Perform De-processing that encompasses vehicle familiarization: safe operations, to include PMCS (Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services), operation of each crew station, and knowledge of organizational maintenance procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Provide assistance to USG personnel as directed.
• Actively engaged in promoting a workplace free from environmental health and safety related hazards including the training and ensuring proper use of personnel protective equipment as deemed appropriate.

Position Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience performing maintenance on tactical/combat vehicles, with Stryker heavy vehicle experience preferred (91B, 91S, 63S, 63W or 63B MCM or USMC MOS' 2147, 3521, 3522, 3524). Experience on Stryker, LAV 2.5 or LAV III desirable.
• Documented commercial training and/or experience acceptable in lieu of military vehicle experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
• Occasional work in confined space within vehicle interior.
• Work in improved and unimproved maintenance facilities as well as field environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and organize/prioritize multiple tasks.
• Must be able to foster and enhance teaming environment.
• Working knowledge with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access preferred.
• Proven ability to perform multiple tasks within multiple work stations.
• Demonstrated good housekeeping skills and ability to convey such practices to team members.
• Ability to work extensive extended hours in a fast paced, challenging, high pressure environment.
• Must be able to gain and maintain access to Joint Base Lewis McChord and other military bases assigned to or where work is to be performed.
• Must meet and maintain ASR guidelines for driver's station entry as described in Standard Practice 2-644.
• Ability to maintain US Passport required.
• Ability to be issued and maintain a Class B CDL. Preference given to candidates with current Class B CDL.
• Ability to be issued and maintain company AMEX card required.
• Ability to deploy where and when needed to support fielding missions CONUS and OCONUS required.
• Must be a U.S. person.

Position Hourly Rate: $38.19

Position Incentive: Hired applicant may be eligible to receive an annual bonus.
