Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Structures Technician for the Evening Shift at the Hartford Service Center. You will perform maintenance and repairs on customer aircraft, focusing on sheet metal and structural components, and support off-site locations as needed.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of aircraft structural sheet metal experience, the ability to read engineering drawings, and a basic tool set. OT and potential SIDA clearance may be required; GSE qualifications may be pursued as needed.

Qualifications

• Training from sheet metal aircraft technical school or equivalent
• At least 3 years of aircraft structural sheet metal repair/modification experience
• Able to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
• Own a basic set of hand tools; demonstrate tool inventory control
• Willing to obtain GSE qualifications as required
• Able to work overtime including non-scheduled days and holidays
• May need SIDA clearance if applicable
• Basic PC skills

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft
• Fabricate or modify structural components on aircraft parts
• Perform minor structural repairs on composites, attached or detached
• Assist in hidden damage inspection of aircraft structures
• Assist with complex structural repairs on/off aircraft
• Assist with aircraft component repair
• Remove/install aircraft components as required
• Comply with environmental, health and safety policies
• Participate in 5-S; work safely and timely
• Document work per manuals and regulations
• Operate ground support equipment as required
• Assist with mechanical/electrical removals and installations
• Support maintenance at off-site locations as needed
• Assist with towing aircraft as needed
• Assist with other maintenance disciplines as needed
• Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements for factory/shop/hangar

What are your contributions to the team?

• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft


• Fabricate and or modify structural modifications on aircraft parts


• Perform minor structural repairs on composite components either attached or detached


• Assist in conducting hidden damage inspection of aircraft structures


• Assist with complex structural repairs either on or off aircraft


• Assist with aircraft component repair


• Remove / install aircraft components as required


• Comply with environmental health and safety policies/procedures


• Participate in 5-S activities Perform work in a safe and timely manner


• Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required


• Operate ground support equipment as required


• Assist with mechanical / electrical removals and installations as needed

How to thrive in this role?

• You have received training from a sheet metal aircraft technical school or have equivalent schooling


• You typically have at least 3 years of aircraft structural sheet metal repair / modification experience


• You have the ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings


• You have the ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status


• You own a basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate Inventory and control of tools


• You have the ability to obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment (GSE) qualifications as required


• You are able to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled work days and holidays


• You are able to work in seasonal/inclement weather outside


• You have the ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) if applicable


• You have basic PC skills
