Job summary

CME Associates in Huntsville, AL seeks a Structures Project Manager to lead design and execution of transportation structural projects. You will oversee scope, schedule, budget, and quality, while mentoring a team of engineers and drafters and serving as the main client contact.

Ideal candidates hold a PE/SE license with 15+ years in structural engineering and project management, and are proficient in OpenBridge/LEAP, MIDAS, OpenRoads, and MicroStation. Hybrid work arrangement available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license required.
  • 15+ years of structural engineering and project management experience.
  • Proven track record of managing structural projects.
  • Strong proficiency in structural analysis software: OpenBridge/LEAP, MIDAS, OpenRoads, MicroStation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with cross-functional teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Experience working in multiple states is a plus.
  • Project and/or client management experience required.
  • Ability to guide junior staff and participate in design and detailing of projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong time management.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects primarily in, but not limited to, the transportation market.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality control to ensure successful project completion.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical expertise in structural analysis, design, and materials selection.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, review and approve project documentation, reports, and specifications.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while resolving technical challenges.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
  • Provide clients with technical support and subject matter expertise on transportation structures related issues.
  • Conduct appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license required.
  • 15+ years of experience in structural engineering and project management.

  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client needs and deadlines, as well as other assigned project parameters.
