Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial in Tulsa, OK is hiring a Structures Installation Mechanic 4D to assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, test and complete precision structural components from engineering drawings and specifications in a fast-paced aviation manufacturing setting.

You will support programs for 787, 737, 777 and defense lines, with training on 1st shift and potential transition to 2nd shift after certification.

Qualifications

• Skin quality awareness and attention to detail essential.
• Experience with aircraft structural repair and fastener work required.
• Proficient in drilling, countersinking and precision assembly.
• Prior structures experience across commercial or defense programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect and complete structural and system components.
• Interpret prints, charts, sketches, work instructions and engineering documents.
• Use precision measuring equipment and testing instruments for functional testing.
• Operate tooling to form subassemblies and completed end items.
• Verify work against instructions and specifications; document discrepancies.
• Perform fastener installation, drilling, countersinking, structural repair and assembly.
• Set up and operate conventional, CNC and fastening equipment with limited three-axis movement.
• Cross-train in inspection functions and pursue SIA qualification.

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to hire experienced Structures Installation Mechanic 4D professionals in Tulsa, Oklahoma. If you have strong aircraft structures experience, exceptional skin quality awareness, and the ability to deliver precision work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this is your opportunity to put your expertise to work on high-profile commercial and defense aircraft programs.

You’ll support work across 787, 737, 777, and unclassified defense programs, contributing directly to the structural quality, integrity, and performance of advanced aircraft.

What You’ll Do

As a Structures Installation Mechanic 4D, you’ll assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, test, and complete precision structural and system components while working from engineering drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and established procedures.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete structural and system components.
• Interpret prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, engineering documents, and verbal or electronic instructions.
• Use shop mathematics, precision measuring equipment, and testing instruments to complete assignments and perform functional testing.
• Utilize specialized tooling to assemble components into subassemblies and completed end items.
• Verify completed work against work instructions, process requirements, and engineering specifications.
• Identify and document discrepancies according to applicable procedures.
• Perform fastener installation, drilling, countersinking, structural repair, and precision assembly.
• Set up and operate conventional and/or CNC and fastening equipment involving less than simultaneous three-axis movement, including Drive Matic-type processes.
• Perform specialty work that may include:
  • Structural assembly and installation
  • Sealer application
  • Subassembly
  • Door assembly and installation
  • Integral fuel cell sealing
  • Precision bench assembly
  • Pressure and vacuum testing
• Ensure equipment and tooling certifications are maintained according to procedure.
• Perform routine minor machine maintenance and basic Total Preventative Maintenance duties.
• Safely move products within the manufacturing area and complete required transactions to advance products to the next operation.
• Complete assigned work within established production schedules.
• Support continuous manufacturing flow by assisting and training employees across classification levels.
• Assist other assembly personnel with assembly, installation, and inspection techniques.
• Cross-train in inspection functions and work toward SIA qualification.

• Identifying discrepancies and ensuring completed work meets engineering and process specifications.
• Working required overtime.
• Training on 1st shift and transitioning to another shift, including 2nd shift, after certification as business needs require.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $59.00 per hour
