Job description

Overview

Structures Engineer role at Donatech Corporation. Base pay range: $39.00/hr - $44.00/hr.

Position would require the candidate to be a W2 employee of Donatech. US Citizenship/Permanent Resident Required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering production support for transition of new design to production and resolution of issues encountered in the build process for production designs.
  • Generate new designs and solutions to meet technical, cost and schedule constraints.
  • Design efficient interface components for integration of new products.
  • Investigate root-cause analysis of design issues arising during production and develop the associated change documentation to resolve design issues.
  • Work closely with a team of engineers and other specialty engineers to resolve issues spanning the structures, ballistics, mechanical and logistics disciplines.
  • Prepare presentations and variance documentation to support production non-compliance issues and vehicle sales.
  • Perform trade studies or tolerance stack analyses during investigation support.
  • Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and test results to ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
  • Create and edit CAD models in PTC Creo and ensure systems are designed for producibility.
  • Design and analyze welded and bolted joints; apply finite element analysis tools and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Provide input to project leaders for development of project plans, schedules, and budgets; ensure tasks meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports, papers, and presentations.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose testing issues with components, document test issues, and maintain an organized data log.
  • Work with suppliers to facilitate cost and quality improvements.
  • Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering disciplines, industry practices, trends and applications.
  • May require daily on-floor support, walking between locations, and climbing in/on vehicles to assess issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field (e.g., Aerospace Engineering).
  • 2 to 6 years of engineering work experience.
  • Experience with FEA and GD&T.
  • Experience using CAD tools such as CREO or SolidWorks; experience designing, analyzing, and integrating technology into combat vehicles; experience with solid models and mechanical designs using CAD systems (preferably PTC Pro-E, CREO, or SolidWorks).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to perform technical presentations; self-starter who drives tasks to completion; good engineering analytical skills with experience in root-cause-corrective-action.
