Job summary

The Camas School District is seeking an instructional paraprofessional to support students receiving specialized instruction in LAP and LAP programs. Working with individuals or small groups, you will help students meet grade-level objectives under the supervision of a Building Principal or Director of Student Services.

Responsibilities include implementing literacy support, maintaining records, preparing materials, assisting with Lexia, and participating in professional development and paid

Qualifications

  • AA degree or equivalent credits, or passing the Paraprofessional Praxis.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Training in evidence-based structured literacy (e.g., LETRS, Orton Gillingham, IMSE).
  • Instructional paraprofessionals per WAC 179-01-020 must complete required coursework and General Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Implement instructional support for word recognition.
  • Ensure student records are created correctly and data accurate.
  • Prepare and utilize educational materials for use with students.
  • Support student use of Lexia in collaboration with district staff.
  • Collect information to update records from faculty, students, and staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers and TOSAs to provide academic support for Tier I/II instruction.
  • Use communications tools to share learning data with staff and families.
  • Assist with DIBELS screening and progress monitoring.
  • Administer diagnostics as needed.
  • Track and enter student data for end-of-year reporting.
  • Manage rank-order data with support and identify students needing help.
  • Maintain files supporting Lexia data.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and up to 3 hours/month of paid training.
  • Support related duties for students and district programs.
