Job summary

Junction City School District in Oregon is seeking a temporary Special Education Teacher to work in the Structured Learning Center, May 19, 2025 through June 13, 2025. You will design and implement instructional programs for students with moderate to severe disabilities and manage student data and files.

The role involves directing and training Instructional Assistants, collaborating with staff, and adhering to Oregon Special Education laws.

Qualifications

• Current Oregon Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement.
• Experience meeting the specialized needs of students with a range of moderate to severe disabilities.
• Ability to provide instruction based on diagnosed needs and data-driven decisions.
• Ability to write, implement, and follow up on IEPs for students needing specialized instruction.
• Ability to train instructional assistants assigned to student instruction.
• Knowledge of RTI (Response to Intervention).
• Knowledge of facilitated communication strategies.
• Ability to manage testing, placement, conferencing, and file management.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students, parents, and staff.
• Adherence to special education law requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach students in the Structured Learning Center.
• Design and adapt instructional programs for identified students based on data.
• Manage student files and case management responsibilities.
• Direct and train Instructional Assistants.
• Work cooperatively with staff, administrators, students, parents, and patrons.
• Coordinate and participate in IEP meetings and follow-ups.
