Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in structured cabling desirable.
• Knowledge of industry standards for structured cabling (TIA/EIA-568, ANSI/TIA-942, ISO/IEC 11801).
• Proficiency in copper/fiber termination including RJ-45, LC, SC, ST, MPO.
• Experience with testing tools such as cable analyzers, OTDRs, and power meters.
• Familiarity with network equipment (switches, routers, VOIP phones, WAPs).
• Ability to read technical drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; good organization and time management.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate copper and fiber optic cabling systems; manage routing, labeling, and test results.
• Mount, rack, and connect network equipment; ensure proper cable management and placement.
• Conduct cable testing and certification; verify attenuation, impedance, and signal quality.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues; perform regular maintenance and inspections.
• Maintain accurate installation records; create diagrams and as-built drawings.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and industry standards throughout projects.
• Collaborate with Facilities project managers, engineers, electricians, and vendors.
