Job Title: Structured Cabling Technician
Location: Austin, TX, 78759

Position Overview:
Roc Search is seeking a motivated Structured Cabling Technician to support our growing portfolio of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience installing low-voltage cabling systems in environments like office buildings, schools, hospitals, or retail spaces. This role requires strong attention to detail, solid technical skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling for voice, data, and video systems in commercial buildings.
- Install network infrastructure including racks, patch panels, cabinets, conduits, cable trays, and J-hooks per project specifications.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, and cable layouts to ensure accurate installations.
- Perform cable certification using Fluke or similar testers; document test results.
- Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other trades on job sites to meet project deadlines.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues in newly installed or existing systems with minimal supervision.
- Follow industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI) and comply with local building codes and safety regulations.
- Maintain tools, materials, and daily job logs; ensure job site cleanliness and organization.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications a plus.
- 1–3 years of structured cabling experience, preferably in commercial construction environments.
- Proficient with installation tools, cable testers, and labeling equipment.
- Ability to work from ladders, scissor lifts, or confined spaces.
- Strong understanding of cable management, routing, and dressing in high-visibility areas.
- Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently or in teams.
- OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Certifications:
- BICSI Installer Level I or II
- OSHA 30 Construction Safety (preferred)
