Summary
Mortenson is currently seeking a Structured Cabling Logistics Installer who will safely assist Cabling Technicians on hyperscale data center projects. Duties include material handling, installation, assembling and dismantling of low voltage carrier systems, preparing work areas, and cleaning workspaces.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of structured cabling systems, including fiber optic and copper cabling.
- Support low voltage installation tasks such as cable pulling, routing, labeling, and basic terminations.
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using various hand tools.
- Safely use hand and power tools after proper training (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.).
- Lift, position, and fasten objects as required for installation support.
- Operate required equipment such as Bobcat/Skid‑steer, Forklift/Telehandler, and Boom Lifts/Aerial Lifts.
- Prepare, handle, stage, and supply materials and tools to support electrical and cabling trades.
- Coordinate material deliveries and maintain organized material storage areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with assembling and dismantling low voltage carrier systems.
- Follow all safety procedures and work under immediate supervision according to standard instructions and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
- Support general labor duties as needed to maintain project flow.
- Perform any other assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience preferred.
- Current driver’s license.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematic drawings, and procedure manuals; ability to work with tools, including power and non-power hand tools, and equipment such as vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
- Willingness and ability to follow instructions, ask clarifying questions, handle materials that can weigh up to 200 lbs, strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, and professional customer service skills.
- Detail oriented; active listening skills and effective communication, openness to diverse input and feedback.
- Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs; for heavier loads, use assistance or equipment.
