Job summary

Alfa Laval is seeking a Welder I to lay out, fit, tack, and weld steel components per blueprints in a Tulsa/Broken Arrow, OK area. You’ll use MIG/TIG welders, grinders, plasma cutters, and drill presses to ensure precision and clean finishes with dimensional accuracy.

Responsibilities include inspecting welds, planning layouts, adhering to safety standards, and helping with material handling. A HS diploma or GED with welding experience is preferred, including basic math and crane operation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred, with relevant experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience using mig or tig welding.
• Must pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) if PAPR is required.
• Manufacturing experience required; industry background preferred.
• Proficient in MIG welding and oxyacetylene torch use.
• Skilled in basic math and tape measure reading.
• Experienced with hand tools, drill/saw machinery, and overhead crane operation.
• Forklift certification preferred.

About the job

As a Welder I, you will be responsible for laying out, fitting, tacking, and welding steel components and assemblies in accordance with blueprint specifications. Using a range of power tools and welding equipment, you’ll ensure precision, structural integrity, and a clean finish free of undercuts and weld spatter. Your work must meet strict dimensional and aesthetic standards, contributing directly to product quality and organizational success.

This position is in Tulsa, Oklahoma and/or Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

As a part of the team, you will:

What you know:

• Regularly exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally; 30 lbs of force frequently

• Stand or walk for 80% of the workday

• Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.

• Mobility & Posture: Standing, walking, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and balancing on varied surfaces

• Manual Dexterity: Reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects using upper body strength

Environmental Factors (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces, exposure):

• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment: steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs

• Exposure to various weather conditions cold or hot, wet/humid conditions, and loud noise levels. No climate-controlled environment.

• Work near hazards: moving machinery, vehicles, electrical currents, and chemicals

• Encounter atmospheric conditions: fumes, dust, gases, odors, and poor ventilation

• Operate in confined spaces such as narrow aisles or passageway

• Communicate effectively through speech and hearing
