Jacobs is seeking a Structure/Bridge Project Manager in Detroit, MI to deliver transportation solutions. The role covers project delivery, client service, staffing, and fee development with a focus on local MDOT projects and bridge design.

You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate proposals and client interviews, and ensure compliance with local and DOT/AASHTO standards. Hybrid work arrangement and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in transportation design.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan, or obtainable in 6 months.
• Established local client relationships and MDOT project experience.
• Demonstrated experience on bridges including analysis, design, and plans for new and rehab projects.
• Solid understanding of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications for transportation structures.

• Oversee all aspects of project delivery for highway infrastructure projects, including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Direct and coordinate project activities to meet goals within time and funding parameters.
• Establish fee estimates and coordinate multi-disciplinary staffing for each project phase.

When you join Jacobs, you’ll be part of a team responsible for all aspects of project delivery including: the quality of project work performed, client service, utilization of staff, scope and fee development, contract management, invoicing, and project profitability for highway infrastructure projects. We’ll look to you for oversight on directing and coordinating project activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

Drawing upon your expertise, you’ll establish fee estimates and coordinate multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of the project while working with the Project Management Principal and Group Leaders regarding assignment of project personnel. Your ability to build rapport will be utilized when you provide subconsultant management as well as staff development.

Also, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of projects that meet local (State, County or City) and DOT/AASHTO standards. Come demonstrate your business acumen when you maintain positive relationships with current and past clients as well as assist in the development and implementation of local marketing and business development.

Here’s what you'll need

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in transportation design
• Previous project management experience on transportation projects
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan, or obtainable in 6 months
• Established local client relationships and has experience on MDOT projects
• Demonstrated experience on various types of bridges, to include analysis, design and plan development of new and rehabilitation projects
• Solid understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures
• Working knowledge of CAD systems - MicroStation and AutoCAD
• Demonstrated ability to perform quality control practices through all phases of design and plans production
• Active engagement in professional organizations
• Ability to travel locally on occasion for project related tasks and meetings

The base salary range for this position is $130,000.00 to $165,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
