Job summary

Commercial Contracting Corporation is seeking a skilled Structural Welding & Fabrication Technician in Orion Township, MI. The role combines MIG welding, blueprint interpretation, metal fabrication, assembly support, and quality inspection in a fast-paced shop environment.

Ideal candidates will have at least two years of welding experience, the ability to read blueprints, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Two years of welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience performing MIG (GMAW) welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Knowledge of fabrication tools, shop equipment, and measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on structural steel and fabricated components.
• Interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and shop specifications.
• Prepare materials through measuring, marking, cutting, and fitting operations.
• Assemble steel components according to project requirements.
• Operate fabrication equipment and machinery safely and effectively.
• Inspect completed welds and fabricated assemblies to verify quality standards.
• Support production schedules while maintaining workmanship expectations.
• Utilize overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and forklifts as required.
• Assist with product staging, testing, packaging, and shipment preparation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.
• Follow established company safety procedures and quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members to improve efficiency and production outcomes.
