Job summary

Nucor Corporation is seeking a skilled welder for our Lacrosse, VA location. Responsibilities include welding steel structural parts per drawings, grinding and finishing welds, and operating multiple fabrication tools while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

The role requires a weld certification (2G) and the ability to read weld symbols; crane certification and material handling experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• WQ1 (2G) weld certification required.

Responsibilities

• Weld steel structural parts as specified per drawing or print.
• Operate grinder to prepare and finish welds.
• Operate flip rite.
• Operate transfers.
• Operate magnetic drill.
• Full visual inspection of part ensuring all welds are in place and properly applied.
• Effectively communicating with upstream and downstream to address safety, quality and efficiency issues/concerns.
• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
