Job summary

laborfinders is hiring an Experienced Fitter in Tallapoosa, GA for day and night shifts. You will fit and assemble structural steel components using MIG and/or stick welding, following blueprints and work instructions. Immediate openings and a pay rate of 20–22+ per hour based on experience.

Requirements include reading blueprints, basic math and measuring skills, and ability to pass a welding test; AWS cert is helpful but not required. OT and weekend work may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and interpreting weld symbols.
• Welding experience, particularly MIG or stick welding.
• Ability to pass welding test and obtain certification if required.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Fit and assemble structural steel components per drawings.
• Read blueprints, drawings and weld symbols.
• Set up welding tools and equipment and perform welding operations.
• Measure, cut, tack, weld, grind and finish materials.
• Inspect welds for quality and accuracy and maintain workspace.
