Job summary

Prismhr Hire is seeking a skilled welder to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components for machinery frames, tanks and pressure vessels. The role requires reading instructions, planning procedures, and performing welding operations with various techniques.

Candidates should have a GED or high school diploma plus 2–3 years of related experience, and must be able to pass a welder qualification test.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2–3 years related experience or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, perform basic math.
• Must pass welder qualification test per code of construction; 3 position, 1" plate test with backing bar using flux core wire.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.
• Plans details of procedure and material requirements.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together.
• Fabricates product by cutting, burning and welding various metals.
• Repairs and builds product using welding techniques and equipment.
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded.
• Sets up, assembles, and welds parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc or gas welding equipment.
• Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
