Job summary

Opti Staffing Group is hiring for a Welder/Fabricator in Sherwood, OR. You will weld and fit thick materials used in large machines for farming and logging applications, with emphasis on thick mild steel and complex fabrication.

The role is a hands-on, non-production position with opportunities to read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and work with cranes and rigging. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6am–2:30pm; compensation $25–$29/hr DOE with benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of MIG welding on thick materials.
• Must be able to read blueprints and welding symbols.
• Fitting & layout experience.
• Proficient with running .052 wire and welding on thick metals up to 3" thick.
• Ability to pass a medical exam/fit test.
• Familiarity with jib or overhead cranes & rigging.

Responsibilities

• Fit and fabricate large machines for farming and logging industries.
• Work on thick mild steel; not a production-line bead job.
• Ensure quality welds on heavy-gauge components and assemblies.

This company is proud to buy and make all of its products in the United States. They are a complete process taking in material and performing everything from CNC machining, welding, and assembly.

What You'll Do

This is a Welder/Fabricator role where you will be challenged to fit and fabricate. This is NOT a production role where you will lay the same bead every day. You will be working on large machines for the logging and farm industry. These require knowledge of thick mild steel.
