Job summary

Zalk Josephs Fabricators in Stoughton, WI is seeking skilled welders for our structural steel fabrication team. You will position, fit, lay out, cut and weld materials per shop drawings and specifications to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities include reading BOMs, interpreting AWS symbols, and performing quality inspections to AWS D1.1 standards while operating welding tools and cranes safely.

Qualifications

• AWS 2G multi-pass flux core test required.
• Experience with multi-pass flux core wire feed welding.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach and climb.
• Read BOMs and interpret shop drawings.

Pay Rate: $26-$38+\hour (Based on Expereience)

Shift Schedule: 1st Shift: 4 Day Work Week // Monday-Thursday (4:30am-3pm) 2nd Shift: 4 Day Work Week // Monday-Thursday (3pm-1:30am) Weekend Shift: 3 Day Work Week // Friday-Sunday (6:30am-7pm)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Position, fit-up, layout, cut, and weld materials according to shop drawings and specifications
• Interpret and apply AWS welding symbols and fabrication standards
• Read and understand Bills of Material (BOMs) to identify required materials and components
• Perform detailed quality inspections in accordance with AWS D1.1 standards
• Safely operate fabrication tools and equipment including torches, grinders, air arc equipment, and overhead cranes
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to pass an AWS 2G flux core multi-pass weld test on a one-inch plate
• Experience with multi-pass flux core wire feed welding
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing throughout the workday
• Skilled in the use of hand tools and measuring equipment
• Strong attention to detail, quality, and workplace safety
• Willingness to work mandatory weekday overtime and voluntary Saturday overtime as needed

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• One (1+) year of welding and/or fabrication experience
• Experience in structural steel or heavy manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with fabrication prints, fit-up, and structural welding processes
