Job summary

Jesse Co. (fka Jesse Engineering) in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Fitter to weld steel parts for structural assemblies per shop drawings and AWS quality requirements. You will identify shapes, cut with a hand torch when needed, and fabricate sub-pieces under guidance.

Responsibilities include inspecting drawings for errors, moving materials with cranes, and maintaining safety while meeting production targets. Hourly, non-exempt, with 40-hour weeks often required.

Qualifications

• Identify steel shapes, sizes, and mill tolerances.
• Preheat and/or cut work pieces using a hand torch when required.
• Fabricate sub-pieces of the overall assembly as trained.
• Identify shop drawing errors and discrepancies early.
• Operate forklifts, jib cranes, and overhead cranes to move materials.
• Work scheduled hours reliably at assigned locations.
