Job summary

SteelCon Inc. is hiring multiple full-time Structural Welders to join our Vandalia, MO team. The role requires accurate, safe welding and independent work to meet high-quality standards.

Pay is based on experience, with a 7:00 am to 4:00 pm schedule, Monday through Friday. Overtime and some weekends may be required to meet business needs. Benefits include PTO, health insurance, dental, vision, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Must operate cutting torch proficiently.
• Must adjust welder for proper feed rate and temperature.
• Able to operate forklifts, jib hoists, and overhead cranes.
• Learn and use crane hand signals.
• Read and follow cutting lists, shop orders, and drawings.
• Perform general math calculations.
• Read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Communicate with managers and co-workers.
• Set priorities and meet goals under supervision.
• Use a tape measure.
• Follow safety policies and take accountability.
• Multitask.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints to plan, lay out, and fit metal components within tolerances.
• Accurately locate and mark reference lines.
• Use tools like jacks and turnbuckles to align parts.
• Set, fit, and erect structural assemblies and modules within tolerances.
• Install structural foundations and outfit items (doors, hatches, brackets).
• Tack weld panels, assemblies, and more.
• Operate machinery like ironworkers, presses, and plate rolls.
• Follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
