Job summary

Nucor Building Systems in Lacrosse, VA is seeking skilled Welders to fabricate structural steel parts per drawings. You will operate grinders, transfer equipment, a magnetic drill, and a flip-rite, while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

Candidates must have a WQ1 (2G) weld certification and be able to read weld symbols. Prior material handling experience is preferred; teamwork and clear communication are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• WQ1 (2G) weld certification is required.
• Ability to read weld symbols is preferred.
• Experience with material handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Weld steel structural parts per drawing or print.
• Operate grinder to prepare and finish welds.
• Operate flip rite.
• Operate transfers.
• Operate magnetic drill.
• Perform full visual inspection of parts to ensure welds are in place and properly applied.
• Effectively communicating with upstream and downstream to address safety, quality and efficiency issues/concerns.
• Demonstrate safety leadership and uphold policies at all times.
