Job description

As a Structural Technician IV, you will oversee the most complex and critical assembly operations. This role involves providing expert technical support, leading large-scale projects, and ensuring the integration of best practices in all assembly processes. You will act as a key liaison between the production floor and engineering management, driving continuous improvement and innovation. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute highly complex and critical assembly operations.
• Provide expert technical support and mentorship to all technician levels.
• Lead large-scale projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Act as a key liaison between the production floor and engineering management.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and integrate best practices.
• Conduct advanced inspections and quality assurance checks.
• Develop and implement training programs for team members.
• Ensure optimal maintenance and calibration of all tools and equipment.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to enhance overall manufacturing processes.

Qualifications You Must Have

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Mastery in blueprint reading and technical documentation.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
• Advanced experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicable.
• Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Associate’s degree in aerospace manufacturing or related discipline.
• Advanced certifications in aerospace manufacturing.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale assembly projects.
• Ability to travel.
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Essential Functions

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Required to be on your feet for most of the work shift.
• Use of hand and power tools requiring hand/finger dexterity.
• Exposure to noisy and potentially hazardous environments; proper safety gear must be worn.
• Ability to travel may be required.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $34.90 - $47.99.

Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
