Job summary

Virginia Steel & Fabrication in Bastian, VA, is seeking a dependable Structural Steel Welder/Fabricator. You will read blueprints, perform MIG and FCAW welding, and fit, fabricate, and assemble structural members for commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and energy projects.

The role requires accuracy, teamwork, and commitment to safety in an active manufacturing environment. Overtime may be required; you will operate saws, ironworkers, drills, grinders, forklifts, and cranes to support

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to read a tape measure and basic fabrication drawings.
Experience with welding and structural steel fabrication.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication details.
Perform MIG and FCAW welding on structural steel components.
Fit, fabricate, and assemble structural steel members and miscellaneous metals.
Operate fabrication equipment including saws, ironworkers, drills, grinders, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
Measure and verify dimensions and tolerances accurately.
Maintain safety and quality standards in a busy shop environment.
