Job summary

Tarrier Steel is seeking a skilled structural welder to identify piece marks, verify drawings, and set up welds according to shop drawings. You will read weld symbols and select appropriate weld types, sizes and procedures for structural joints.

Operate MIG and flux-core welders, use layout tools, and perform careful measurement to ensure high-quality fabrication while maintaining a safe work environment and coordinating with CNC, foremen, and QC teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structural steel welding experience.
• Ability to read structural shop drawings and weld symbols.
• Proven capability to weld structural steel to spec.
• Experience operating overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

• Identify piece marks, check drawings and confirm finish codes before fabrication begins.
• Interpret weld symbols to select weld types, sizes and procedures.
• Perform layout and marking with tapes, squares, levels and layout tools.
• Weld in 1G/3G positions per shop drawings and prepare joints.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and coordinate with CNC operators and QC.
