Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in structural steel layout and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication and construction drawings.
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication practices and quality standards.
• Welding certification in AWS D1.1 and/or D1.5 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structural steel components throughout fabrication and upon completion.
• Identify, document, and report nonconformances in accordance with AWS D1.1 and D1.5 standards.
• Compare fabricated materials with shop drawings and project specifications.
• Perform in-process and final quality checks, including dimensional layout and part placement.
• Assist with annual AISC quality control audits.
• Collaborate with production teams to investigate and resolve quality concerns.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and fabrication process consistency.

Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented quality inspector to evaluate structural steel fabrication in an AISC-certified facility. Experienced senior-level structural steel fitters and fabricators with strong quality inspection skills are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect structural steel components throughout fabrication and upon completion.

• Identify, document, and report nonconformances in accordance with AWS D1.1 and D1.5 standards.

• Compare fabricated materials with shop drawings and project specifications.

• Perform in-process and final quality checks, including dimensional layout and part placement.

• Assist with annual AISC quality control audits.

• Collaborate with production teams to investigate and resolve quality concerns.

• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and fabrication process consistency.
